MINUTES OF THE GILBERT CITY COUNCIL MEETING

GILBERT, IOWA

CALLED TO ORDER: 7:02 P.M. at City Hall, by Mayor Bob Jaquis

ROLL CALL: Present: Chris Benda, Helen Gunderson, Lynn Henn, Peg Uthe and Fred Vogtlin.

Absent: None

    Moved, by Peg Uthe, seconded by Fred Vogtlin to approve the minutes for July 2, 2001 the revenue, expense, and funds list for June 2001 and the agenda and claims list for July 16, 2001. Motion declared carried unanimously.

    No citizen requested to speak at the Open Forum.

    Alan Hanson, Gilbert Water Superintendent had discussion with Council on water issues.

  Moved by Helen Gunderson, seconded by Fred Vogtlin to accept the proposal from Public Management Resource Group to complete the Comprehensive Plan for the City of Gilbert. Motion declared carried unanimously.

    Mayor Jaquis advised the City Clerk to consult with Jill Allen with Cline, DeVries & Allen, L.L.P. on transferring of funds.

    Moved by Peg Uthe, seconded by Fred Vogtlin to approve the Evangelical Free Church gathering at Lions Park on August 4, 2001 from 4-6 p.m. Motion declared carried unanimously.

    Moved by Fred Vogtlin, seconded by Peg Uthe to approve property tax exemption for 123 Park Avenue. Motion declared carried unanimously.

    Moved by Fred Vogtlin, seconded by Peg Uthe to adjourn at 8:05 p.m. Motion declared carried unanimously.
