MINUTES OF THE GILBERT CITY COUNCIL MEETING

GILBERT, IOWA

CALLED TO ORDER: 7:01 P.M. at City Hall, by Mayor Bob Jaquis

ROLL CALL: Present: Craig Allen, Chris Benda, Helen Gunderson, Lynn Henn and Peg Uthe.

Absent: None

  Moved by Henn, seconded by Uthe to approve the minutes for January 21, 2002, the revenue and expense report for January 2002, Agenda, Claims List and Interim Claims List for February 4, 2002. Motion declared carried unanimously.

Fred Vogtlin was present to speak at the Open Forum. Vogtlin expressed his concern with the fold out stop sign on Mathew Drive. Fred explained the opening and closing of the signs and said that he had observed problems with this.

No other citizen requested to speak during the open forum.

Moved by Uthe, seconded by Gunderson to adopt Resolution 385, Accepting Plat for Village North Sixth Addition.

Roll Call Vote: 5-0

Resolution 385 declared adopted unanimously, signed by the Mayor and hereby made a portion of these minutes.

David Doughtery was present to discuss with the Mayor and Council the Well Location Study and the loan application.

Moved by Gunderson, seconded by Uthe to approve a loan amount of $150,000.00 on a loan application for a backup well. Motion declared carried unanimously.

Moved by Uthe, seconded by Allen to approve the appointment of Fred Vogtlin to the Board of Adjustment. Motion declared carried unanimously.

Moved by Henn, seconded by Uthe to approve the renewal of Class C Liquor License and Sunday Sales for the Open Flame. Motion declared carried unanimously.

Mayor Jaquis and Council discussed the 2002-2003 City Budget.

Moved by Allen, seconded by Benda for Resolution 386 to set a Public Hearing date for February 18, 2002 at 7:00 p.m. at the Gilbert City Hall on the 2002-2003 Budget.

 Roll Call Vote: 5-0

Resolution 386 declared adopted unanimously, signed by the Mayor and hereby made a portion of these minutes.

Moved by Uthe, seconded by Gunderson to adjourn at 8:35 p.m. Motion declared carried unanimously.
