CALLED TO ORDER: 7:02 P.M. at City Hall, by Mayor Bob Jaquis
ROLL CALL: Present: Craig Allen, Chris Benda, Helen Gunderson, Lynn Henn and Peg Uthe.
Absent: None
Moved by Henn, seconded by Uthe to approve the minutes for February 18, 2002, revenue and expense report for February 2002, Agenda, Claims List and Interim Claims List for March 4, 2002. Motion declared carried unanimously.
Gary Steel asked to speak at the Open Forum to discuss the railroad crossing at Mathews Drive. He wanted to inform the Mayor and Council that he had spoke with a railroad guy about fixing the railroad this summer.
No other citizen requested to speak during the open forum.
Mayor Jaquis and council discussed seeding and putting a sidewalk on city’s easement between 124 and 128 Christian Petersen. Council member Henn suggested having the Boy Scouts or Eagle Scouts lay the sod for a project. Council seemed agreed to bring this agenda item back to the table at the March 18, 2002 council meeting. Council reviewed two bids for the sidewalk on city easement between 124 and 128 Christian Petersen. Moved by Uthe, seconded by Benda to have Markley Concrete lay the sidewalk on the city easement between 124 and 128 Christian Petersen for $1,685.00. Motion declared carried unanimously.
Mayor Jaquis and Council discussed many issues on driveway approach depth. Council seemed agreed to bring this item back to the table at the March 18, 2002 Council meeting to be discussed after some issues that are unclear are looked into.
Council had no questions or comments regarding county policy and resurfacing roads.
Council discussed the matter of the property at 209 Gretten. Moved by Uthe, seconded by Allen to request that the owner of 209 Gretten have the demolition of the house and property cleaned up by July 1, 2002. Motion declared carried unanimously.
Moved by Henn, seconded by Uthe to open the Public Hearing for Ordinance 279, Amending Prohibiting Parking on a part of Thompson Avenue. Motion declared carried unanimously.
No citizen was present to speak during the Public Hearing.
Moved by Henn, seconded by Uthe to close the Public Hearing for Ordinance 279. Motion declared carried unanimously.
Moved by Uthe, seconded by Henn to approve the first reading of Ordinance 279, Amending Prohibiting Parking on a part of Thompson Avenue. Motion declared carried unanimously.
Moved by Uthe, seconded by Allen to adjourn at 8:05 p.m. Motion declared carried unanimously.
