team was taken right after it won the sectional baseball tournament in
1960.

Taylor, Bob Wirth, Jack South, Dave Turner, Jim Wirth, Loren Bates, Bob Gibson, Denny Johnson, Joe Turner. According to Bob Jensen: "O.E. Taylor coached and taught at Gilbert three different times. He came here in the thirties, left for a junior college job, came back to Gilbert for his second stint and left for a job at Ames high. His 1945 Ames high basketball team won the state championship. He then was in the restaurant business in Estes Park, Colorado, until 1957 when he returned to teach and coach at Gilbert." |
